  1. We would love to have Truckee High Envirolution join us for this:

Sugar Bowl Academy's ninth/tenth-grade "Off Piste/Leave No Trace" advisory group invites you to attend a community screening of the award-winning Robert Redford documentary, WATERSHED, to be held at Sugar Bowl Resort's Village Hall on February 18th at (5:30 pm - still TBD).

This is a free event open to the public and designed to coalesce the Sugar Bowl Academy and greater Truckee communities around what the WATERSHED documentary calls "a new water ethic for the New West."

From the filmmakers: "Executive Produced and Narrated by Robert Redford and directed by award-winning filmmaker, Mark Decena, WATERSHED tells the story of the threats to the once-mighty Colorado River and offers solutions for the future of the American West...

"The Redford Center created WATERSHED as a inspirational social action tool for people who want to engage. Promoting personal water conservation pledges of 5% – symbolic of the small amount of the river's flow required to reconnect the river to its delta – and garnering donations to help purchase the water rights necessary to restore the connectivity, WATERSHED is a central tool in a larger grassroots effort focused on saving the Colorado River and supporting the communities throughout the river basin."

Sugar Bowl Academy and Sugar Bowl Ski Resort join Stanford University and the Festival Internacional de Cine del Medio Ambiente in Madrid, Spain as a few of the sites scheduling community screenings in February of this significant and, ultimately, hopeful look at the past, present, and future of western water issues.
