Bioneers Show!

Check out our show at Bioneers! We made this video for a recycling contest, and although recycling is a very important part of environmental stewardship, bear in mind that this is not our whole message! It's best to rethink what you buy before you buy it, and reuse whatever you can. We have more Trashion show videos to come!

Bioneers Meeting- if you are going, PLEASE READ!!!

• We will be eaving at lunch on Thursday.
• Bring $30 for fun Friday activity! Cash!
• Lots of great speakers who have great things to say. 
• We get to see lots of plenary speakers and performers in a huge auditorium from 9-12:00. Bring a notebook! To take notes and doodles. Or, you can bring knitting or something to do with your hands to help you concentrate.
• Our workshop is on Friday from 2:45 to 4:15, after lunch. This is our contribution to the Bioneers community.
• No snoring!
• Check your emails from Bioneers or look at the Bioneers website to check out what speakers are in the morning and workshops you’re interested in for the afternoon. 
• Everybody goes to the plenary speakers together in the morning and can break up to go to the most interesting workshops for us in the afternoon.
• We have scholarships for lunch. 
• We need to make a head and arms for the mannequin Annika made for our workshop.
• COLLECT MILK CARTONS FOR WALLET MAKING AT OUR WORKSHOP!!!
• At our workshop we will talk about:
• Creative youth
• Recycling projects
• Green initiatives
• Mandatory
• Community Action
• Youth Leadership
• Trashion
• Service Learning
• Please sign up to work on one or more aspects of the workshop or Trashion show.
• Our stage is outside. It is called the Sun Stage. It will be near the cliff bar tent. It will be fantastic! Lots of people will see our show! YAY!!!
• We have a tech person for our show who will help us with our speaker and other technical needs.
• We will leave for our fun Friday adventure at 5:00 after our workshop!
• Please bring your $15 gas money in cash. Cash is preferable, but checks will be accepted also.
• Money you’ll need:
• $15 for gas money
• $100 for food
• $30 for the Fun Friday Adventure!!!
• Other $$$ for buying things at Bioneers or on our Fun Friday Adventure.
• We will be at the Bioneers conference all day on Saturday. Plenary speakers in the morning, workshops in the afternoon, and movies in the evening. Look online at the Bioneers website to see what movies will interest you.
• If you have homework, bring it with you to do in your spare time.
• Our show is at 1:00 on Sunday.
• After our show, we will pack up and go home. =)
• It will be sooooo much fun!
• We are there as a group, and we will stay as a group. You cannot leave to go with any relatives, etc.

Meeting Tomorrow!

First Meeting

Hey all! We just had our first meeting of the school year today! Meetings will be every Monday in Mrs. Lowder's room. Please, please, please come! They are super important! Next week, we have Monday off, so the meeting will be on Tuesday. After that, Monday meetings. See you all there! =)

Envirolution Club at the Tahoe Summit

The Envirolution Club helped host the Tahoe Summit, benefiting the Tahoe Fund at the West Shore Café on Monday! We hobnobbed with amazing people like Dianne Feinstein, Jerry Brown, Leonard Nimoy, and many more! We helped to raise thousands of dollars for the Tahoe Fund. Thanks so much to everyone in attendance that night, your contributions are greatly appreciated!

August 25th Truckee Thursday Show

Don't miss the Envirolution Trashion Show at Truckee Thursdays on August 25th. We'll be doing a great show to celebrate an awesome summer of successful Truckee Thursdays. See you there ! It will be at 7:15!!!

Congratulations from the State Fair

The Envirolution Club did a wonderful job at our two shows at the California State Fair. We performed twice, at 3 and 8 at the Center Stage, and it was fabulous! Here's a picture.

Important Dates to Remember

Party- We willb e having our party on Sunday, June 5th at 2:00pm at Emma's house. Directions will be sent via email, and make sure to bring your parents, siblings, and fellow club members and a potluck dish for everyone to share. See you there!

Fundraiser- SWEP is having a "friendraiser" on the Tahoe Gal on June 9th. Hopefully the weather will be sunny and warm! This is a very important fundraiser to support Environmental Education. State Fair- Envirolution has been invited to the California State fair for the second time! Hooray! We will be performing two shows on July 15th on the center stage!!! The shows will be at 3:00 and 8:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Envirolution at the AMGEN Tour!!!

The race was cancelled, and the snow was coming down! But that didn't stop Envirolution members Amory and Makaiah from strutting their stuff at Northstar for what was supposed to be the finish of the first leg of this huge bike race. So much fun!

Earth Day!!!!

Today, the Town of Truckee officially proclaimed Earth Day! They invited the Truckee High Envirolution Club to officially accept this very important and amazing proclamation. We are SO honored!

Don't forget about Earth Day!

Envirolution is celebrating Earth Day by doing some outreach to our local elementary students. We're going to help them decorate their zero waste lunch bags and empower them to make a difference! Also... We will be performing our signature Trashion show at Squaw Valley on April 23rd at 2:15 in the village. Don't miss it!!!

Almost Earth Day!

Hey everyone! It's almost Earth Day! While the official day is April 22nd, which is this Friday, Squaw Valley is hosting their Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 23rd. There will be a ton of fascinating booths, great music, and... OUR TRASHION SHOW!!! We will be performing our one of a kind piece on the main stage in the middle of the village at 2:15! Mark your calendars, you don't want to miss this!

We have arrived at the National Service Learning Conference in Atlanta, Georgia! Yay! We can't wait for our showcase tomorrow and our show on Friday! The venue is HUGE! By far the biggest venue we've ever performed at. We are so very honored.

One Week Until Atlanta, Georgia

The time is flying by! It's hard to believe we only have one week until the Envirolution Club embarks on our adventure to the National Service Learning Conference in Atlanta Georgia! We are so excited to go and meet all kinds of great people. In addition, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us and helped us to achieve our goals. Envirolution Meeting Update

Today, the Envirolution Club had one of our weekly meetings. Today we discussed a variety of topics including: our upcoming fundraiser gala, volunteering for our very own Booster Club tomorrow, our show at Queen of Hearts, and rehearsals for that show. We're very excited for all of our upcoming events, and we hope to see you there!

Crafternoon was a success!

Every Wednesday that we have a minimum day from school, the Envirolution kids get together at a house to brainstorm and create new outfits. It's a great way to build club spirit and collaborate on ideas for our shows. Yesterday, we had an extremely successful crafternoon in which two outfits were finished! Congrats to the makers of those!

Envirolution Meeting

Yesterday, during one of the club's weekly meetings, we celebrated the birthday of one of our members. Happy Birthday! Also, we discussed fundraising and committees for a gala we will be hosting in the near future. Details will be posted soon! Enjoy your day!

Hello Truckee!

Hello Truckee, the members of the Envirolution club would just like to give a shout out to anyone who's making an effort in their lives to help the environment. Weather it's turning off the lights or buying in bulk, every little action helps. However, we need to take big steps in order to create the necessary change. We need to rethink the entire way we live our lives. For instance, while buying "green" products is great, buying and consuming less is what really needs to happen. The Truckee Envirolution Club urges you to take all the steps, big and small, to work towards a greener and more sustainable future!

Hello world, welcome to the Truckee High School's Envirolution Club blog! We're an environmental club in our third year of avid activity. What our club is most known for is our "Trashion Shows." Our club members create unique, show-stopping outfits out of trash or other materials our society has deemed as "waste." We combine an entertaining show with important and cutting edge messages about our environment.
